Since I hadn’t watched a good comedy show in a while, I decided to watch the CNN Republican Debate back on September 16, 2015.
The 3 hour GOP debate was pretty much a prelude to the Shrine Circus that will be performing in my area in January. So much buffoonery and random babbling, especially from the biggest clown who was positioned front and center, Donald Trump.
The stage also reminded me of an elementary school playground. Kids talking loudly, trying to out talk each other. And then there’s the school bully, again Donald Trump. Actually Trump acted as if he had multiple personalities. One minute he was a bully, the next minute he was throwing temper tantrums like a young child, and hissy fits like a teenage girl.
It must be frustrating for the moderator to have your questions barely answered, or not answered at all. I know it was frustrating for me. I have four notebook pages full of notes from the debate, and I can’t make sense out of any of it.
I had my personal favorites that night, including Jeb Bush. I posted on my Random Thoughts blog post that he appears to be the smartest Bush.
Although I never pay attention to popularity polls, I can’t help but to wonder about the strange phenomenon that the top 3 candidates are non-politicians. Is it a set-up? Are Carly Fiorina, Dr. Ben Carson, and Donald Trump being played? Are the puppet masters quietly awaiting one of them to become the next President of the United States?
Carly Fiorina is aggressive, determined, and a pretty good debater. She was not intimidated and made sure her opinions were voiced. I was lost in a lot of her responses though, especially about Planned Parenthood. And I’m still wondering what tape she was talking about.
I liked Dr. Ben Carson when he first announced his candidacy for president. But by the end of the debate, he was one of my least favorites. As with most of the other candidates, Dr. Carson either talked around the questions, or didn’t answer them at all. He is too passive, and wants to “sit down and talk” with everybody. Well that’s good and all Dr. Carson, but the people needs to know what you would say in these talks. We can’t vote for you if we don’t know what you’re about.
Donald Trump is trying to bully his way into the White House. He talked to everyone on that stage as if they are his workers, and no doubt he’s thinking he will do the same if he becomes president. When he previously addressed attacks about his sarcastic remark about Fiorina’s face, he said he was an entertainer. Well let me tell you this. Donald Trump is not an entertainer. Donald Trump is a stale joke. People, please stop entertaining that man’s ignorance. It’s not funny.
I was laughing when I started typing this random post. But the more I type, the more I find myself becoming frustrated. That Republican debate was 3 hours of silly talk. Those who haven’t dropped out of the race yet need to get it together.
To the Republican candidates: some of you would make a strong presidential hopeful if you go back to the drawing board. Do your research and learn the facts so that you’ll know what you’re talking about. Stop pointing fingers at one another. AND STOP BLAMING THE DEMOCRATS FOR EVERYTHING. Tell America why YOU would make a good president.
As of right now, I would be embarrassed to be a Republican IF I was a Republican.
